Phoebus has 18 years’ experience as complex derivatives trader and 15 years’ experience as asset manager across all main asset classes. In the first part of his ‘sell-side’ career, he traded complex equity, interest-rate, foreign-exchange, credit and hybrid derivatives at Bankers Trust, Credit Suisse, Bear Stearns, and Gen Re Securities (1992-2001). In the second part, he traded and structured complex equity and strategic derivatives at CDC-IXIS, TD Securities, and ABN-AMRO/RBS (2002-2009). During this time, he served as global head variously of quantitative trading, structuring, execution and trading risk, set up or restructured client and proprietary desks globally, and supervised and directed variously pricing, execution, positioning, risk management, and business risk mitigation.

During his ensuing ‘buy-side’ career, Phoebus was co-founder and CIO of a Swiss multi-family office (where he advised inter alia on investment banking exercises in offshore oil and gas, mining, shipping and telecoms) and a multiply-awarded Swiss fund management company (of whose enlarged successor entity he remains a manager), as well as director of a Cayman private-markets mutual fund (where he still serves). From mid-2015 through 2018, he was a managing director at UBS Asset Management, where he advised the C-Suite on risk exposures and investment performance drivers, and participated by invitation in strategic (M&A), finance (RWA/LRD), accounting and regulatory projects at Group-CEO level.

Phoebus currently serves as a director of CSB’s sole shareholder, CSB Investors Group BV (Netherlands), as legal advisor at a Swiss law firm, and as director of Investors Europe (Mauritius) Ltd, an internationally-licensed cross-markets financial intermediary. He holds a BA cum laude (Economics) from Harvard University, a MPhil (Finance) from University of Cambridge, and a MSc (Economics) from London School of Economics.
