About the role
The Payments Officer is essential in overseeing and executing payment transactions at the bank, ensuring each process is accurate, compliant, and efficient. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, with responsibilities including managing various payment methods in alignment with regulatory standards and internal policies. The Payments Officer will also be tasked with mitigating transaction risks, delivering outstanding customer service, and working collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth payment operations.
In this position, the Payments Officer is responsible for processing all client requests with precision and efficiency, adhering to the policies and procedures of CSB. This role works closely with the Senior Payments Manager and requires a balance of teamwork and independence. This role requires effective communication with diverse clients and ensure that payments are completed within established deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Conduct the Bank’s routine bank transactions, including wire transfers, internal transfers, and card payments, adhering to established timeframes and guidelines.
- Ensure all payment activities comply with relevant banking regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Manage risk in every transaction and detect fraudulent transactions to prevent losses
- Monitor payment queues and resolve any issues or exceptions promptly
- Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers regarding payment inquiries and issues.
- Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns related to payments in a professional manner.
- Work closely with other departments, including Finance, Compliance, and Operations departments, to ensure seamless payment operations
- Foster trust and loyalty by consistently going the extra mile to enhance customer satisfaction and build strong relationships.
Requirements
- Proven working experience in banking or financial services
- Basic PC knowledge and familiarity
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Customer satisfaction-oriented
- Attention to detail and mathematical skills
