About the role

The Banking Support Officer role is a newly created position aligned with the Group’s strategic growth objectives. The role supports key functions within the Banking Team, primarily client onboarding and payments processing.

The successful candidate will assist with onboarding new clients by reviewing and assessing account opening applications to ensure documentation is complete, compliant, and processed efficiently. The role will also support the Payments Team by assisting with the execution of payment transactions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to maintaining high service standards. The role is offered as an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension or a longer-term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Onboarding Team with client onboarding by managing new account openings, including collecting, verifying, and processing documentation within agreed timeframes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a seamless experience for clients.
  • Support the Onboarding Team in addressing client needs, responding to enquiries promptly, and delivering solutions that strengthen long-term client relationships.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and screening in line with regulatory requirements, ensuring all onboarding and account management activities remain compliant and effectively risk-managed.
  • Process routine banking transactions including wire transfers, internal transfers and card payments in accordance with established timeframes and procedures.
  • Ensure all payment activities comply with relevant banking regulations, internal policies, and operational guidelines.
  • Monitor payment queues and resolve any issues or exceptions promptly.
  • Identify and manage transaction risks, including detecting potentially fraudulent activity to prevent losses.
  • Provide prompt and professional support to internal teams and clients regarding payments and new accounts enquiries and issues.

Requirements

  • Experience in offshore banking or financial services is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems or willingness to learn, with the ability to build strong client and colleague relationships and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Background in customer service, or transaction processing is desirable, with the ability to support business growth while maintaining client satisfaction
  • Proactive in identifying issues and implementing solutions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with clients and team members.
  • Collaborative team player who supports the team in achieving goals.

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a super strength of attention to detail. This translates to you having the ability to complete tasks against timelines.
