Capital Security Bank have substantially invested in their IT infrastructure during 2013/14. The priorities were to invest in the latest best of breed technologies with emphasis on performance, availability and security.
The 1st priority was to migrate the existing servers to the all-new Hewlett Packard ProLiant ML350 Gen-8 Servers running the latest Microsoft Server Operating Systems. In the August edition of CSB News we reported on the installation of a secure, climate controlled server facility to house the new IT equipment. This was enhanced by the installation of a new larger APC Un-interruptible Power Supply which provides a clean filtered source of mains power for all of the IT equipment along with battery backup in the case of a power outage, which assist CSB in providing improved availability of all of the IT Systems.
Once the above were successfully implemented then the next priority was to install an enhanced security system to provide CSB with a Unified Threat Management solution. A D-Link NetDefend UTM Firewall has been installed to provide Enterprise-Class security features to manage, monitor and maintain a healthy and secure network.
The D-Link NetDefend UTM Firewall provides comprehensive defence against virus attacks, unauthorised intrusions and harmful content. The device is further enhanced by keeping the internal databases up-to-date with 3 subscription services: Intrusion Prevention System, Anti-Virus and Web Content Filtering. These subscriptions ensure that the each of the Firewall’s service databases are complete and effective, to provide CSB staff and client’s with a safe and secure network infrastructure. Below is an example of a secure network infrastructure based on D-Link NetDefend UTM Systems.
